If you wanna take the Freak on the Leash look...go right ahead. I'll even give you some good pictures if you are serious about it and even give ya cowboy's cell phone so he can give you more details. Because i did miss some of his build stuff. I have 40's with like 7" lift :)

i keep mine floored all the time, it holds more rpm then my 94 tbi 350 did

I like the Freak On a Leash look but not sure why. I understand why you did it, but I don't plan on running trails anytime soon. I think I might end up just removing the front fenders all together! I got some time to figure it out....

what do you mean brave???? we do it all the time!!! they don't break as easy as everybody thinks. It's the u-joints or ears that break off before the actual shaft breaks. Cowboy upgraded to a Dana 60 because my truck needed a complete front axle swap after i tore up the pinion almost pulled it right out the back of the case. Plus the Dana 60 front and 14 ff only cost 2 diesel batteries :)

and what do you run? i run a 44 with no problems and once i get my other project done that will have a 10 bolt front and rear. i believe they are the next best thing in stock form to a dana 60

i blew up dana 44's with 35's pretty easily on my first sas truck, the joints and shafts are just too small for that pressure and when they go they tend to take the shafts and balljoints with them, pre 88 10 bolts are even smaller shafts with 28 spline vs the dana 44 30 spline(88-91 10 bolt shafts are 30 spline and fit a dana 44)

i run a dana 60/14bolt locked f/r with 5:13 and disks on the current truck and will probably have to go to upgraded rockwells with the new motor, 1 tons won't handle 1000hp and 44's very well

a balljoint 10 bolt axle with alloy shafts and ctm joint is still not as strong as a stock kingpin d60, and a c-clip 10 bolt rear is good for holding up the trail as they like to grenade or at least break a c-clip/end of the shaft just ask jake from damage inc how many times he spit out an axle, 12 bolts and 9.5 14 bolts like to eat pinion bearings( with stock tires its really bad on a 9.5 with 3:42 gear for some reason)

LOL....it's already in the cross over steer process I don't think he'll let it go that easy :)

I really don't see what's wrong with 10 bolts or 44's. We maybe go through 3 sets of axles a year depending how crazy's cowboy's lead foot is :bang: He can break a 60 just as easy as those and he's proved it before. I've realized nothing is cowboy proof because he has no fear climbing hills and rocks.

Oh yes the orange truck is for sale by the way. rolling chassis with roller tires. Seat's go with for an extra $200. No belts though. $500 obo
