It's definitely looking good!

Are you going for a full black out? Door hinges? Grill? Etc...

Thanks gang. I'm thrilled about how it looks, and the blisters are finally going away from all the sanding...

Yep, I'm gonna get black grill pieces instead of the chrome, I'm going to have Anders help me get the hinges off, and then work on the smaller bits like the headlight bezels.

As I think about it, I don't know what I'm missing. The only thing with color right now is my front diff cover. I painted the red spider over in yellow, which you can see in the first pic.

Get ready to repeat that process after every wheeling trip if you want to keep them looking that way.

Yeah, I had been thinking about that. If only there was more backspacing!

At the current rate, I'll have to do it about once a year, cause that's all I've been able to wheel :(

I used a rustoleum paint for painting metal, with a 'satin' finish. I guess that's a fancy word for 'matte'.

I painted my 'skull' in the clearcoat, but did not finish the wheels in clearcoat as it looked funny. I think I like the clearcoat finish better. If I were to go back and re-finish the wheels, would I need to do anything more than clean up the wheels really well (wash, degrease, rubbing alcohol), then apply the clearcoat? I think I'd like a little extra layer of defense against the elements too...

That is correct just make sure to degrease. Also welcome to the stock painted wheels club!

Just be careful about adding too many coats - more isn't always better. If y'start getting too thick, the paint will start to become very brittle.

It's fun to see progress made. Typically, I do a lot of talking and not much wrenching, but I'm making some progress, little by little!

Thank's Pat!

I finally got to those little nagging bits that have been bothering me.

Replaced stock subwoofer in center console
Replaced rusted drivers door handle
Replaced busted shift boot with pleather from 2005

Sweet!

Little things, I know, but I did it all by my lonesome and I'm (sorta) proud of that!
